President Trump surely knows how to use his outspokenness. He speaks out and loud for each problem. He called for the United States to end special tax breaks for the NFL, after the organization continued to allow players to disrespect the national anthem.
Trump, once again expressed his rage toward NFL kneelers and he recommended that the NFL should lose tax breaks if players continue to kneel during the national anthem. “Why is the NFL getting massive tax breaks while at the same time disrespecting our Anthem, Flag and Country? Change tax law!,” the President wrote on Twitter.
NFL team owners get huge tax breaks from their local state. The government also helps funding in building expensive new stadiums and keeping a football team in the community.
These days the tax status of NFL is in the spotlight in the wake of new tax plan. After their protests top personalities have questioned whether the NFL should enjoy the various tax breaks. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell called the tax-exemption a “distraction” in 2015 and said it has been “mischaracterized repeatedly in recent years.”
Republican Matt Gaets from Florida, has agreed with President on NFL’s tax status. “In America, if you want to play sports you’re free to do so. If you want to protest, you’re free to do so. But you should do so on your own dime,” Gaets stated.
Gaetz noted that Congress should not be subsidizing the NFL with tax breaks “particularly when the NFL league office has embraced this unpatriotic behavior.”
The National Football League has disrespected our country and our values in front of the whole world. Now they need to face up with the consequences of their actions. People has woken up and realized that they don’t want seeing their tax money going to such unpatriotic organization.
